Mother Road Market to Kick Off Pride Month with Free Drag Brunch, Fundraiser

Tulsa, Okla. | June 7, 2022 -- It's Pride month and the Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation and Mother Road Market are showing their support for the LGBTQ+ community through a special Drag Brunch performance and fundraiser.

Reigning Miss Gay Oklahoma at large, Kiana Jade will headline an ensemble of 6 drag queens on the patio of Mother Road Market on Sunday, June 12 from 12 - 3 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.  Additionally,  Mother Road Market will sell a limited edition Pride shirt online and at the Market.  All proceeds from sales of the t-shirts on June 12 will be donated to PFLAG Tulsa, which provides support, education and advocacy for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people.

“PFLAG Tulsa is honored to be selected by Mother Road Market as the donation partner for Pride.  Donations support our mission of promoting the health and well-being of our local LGBTQ+ community,” says Nancy McDonald, President of PFLAG Tulsa.

"We are thrilled to headline this very special edition of Drag Brunch at Mother Road Market,” said host Kiana Jade, reigning Miss Gay Oklahoma United States at large. “As a lifelong Tulsan, I am proud to represent the LBGTQ+ community and help raise funds for PFLAG.  Guests are in for an amazing show, featuring the stars of Oklahoma drag and our very special guest all the way from Houston Texas, former Miss Gay USofA and reigning Miss Glamorous Plush, Chevelle ‘Boom Boom’ Brooks.”

Mother Road Market hosts a Brunch Club series on Sundays from 12 - 3 p.m. on the patio from September - June. Each week a different theme is celebrated, including Drag Brunch on the second Sunday of each month. Guests are encouraged to grab their favorite local eats and a cocktail from The WEL Bar before enjoying live entertainment on Tulsa’s Best Patio. In addition to Drag Brunch this month, the Market will also host Karaoke Brunch on June 19 and Dance Party Brunch on June 24.

“Mother Road Market and the Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation are proud allies of the LGBTQ+ community,” said Brian Paschal, CEO of the Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation. “We are committed to offering an inclusive place for everyone to enjoy a good meal and shop local.”
